In this course, Nick and Anna teach you the basics of developing 35mm film at home. These are the core aspects of film photography. Anna has been taking analogue photos for 20 years. In the summer of 2019, they found an old SLR Pentax on the Facebook Marketplace. The only option (they thought) for developing was to send a roll of film to a company for $15! Yikes! Anna had learned how to develop film in High School and taught Nick what she knew. Developing at home allows you to individualize the entire process on your own. From taking the picture to developing the film to scanning it and editing, it’s definitely worth the time when you see the end product. Both Anna and Nick have learned a lot along the way and are still eager to learn all things film. There is never enough.

In this course, you will learn how to load film into an SLR camera, how to transfer that film from the canister into the developing tanks, how to develop your exposed film and the chemicals involved, scanning, editing, and sharing your work. Our one rule is to have fun and be excited to learn! We hope to see you in our course!
