"I have been a legal secretary for over 15 years, across three States of Australia – Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales. My experience has included being a temp secretary (“temping”), a paralegal and a legal float secretary across numerous law firms in each State.

Before becoming a legal secretary, I was a criminal law Barrister.

I have been on both ends of the spectrum: of needing and receiving admin support; and giving admin support. My understanding of what lawyers need assistance with, as well as what secretaries need to equip themselves with, has been informed from both these ends of the spectrum.

The purpose of this course is simple: I saw a dire need for there to be at least a starting guide to help those looking to begin their career as a legal secretary in Australia."
