Description
New! Breathe to Energize is an active, 10-minute daily practice of Breathwork, Breath Holding and Meditation which is transformative for your heart and mind and carries powerful benefits for your health and wellbeing. The practice creates a brief, tonic state of high CO2 and low oxygen, also called ‘hypoxic training’ or high-altitude training and is a scientifically proven means of:
Boosting red blood cells
Enhancing oxygen delivery
Giving more energy and stamina
Improved blood flow and relaxation
Healing poor breathing habits
By weaving in a mind-body meditation called the Shambhavi Mudra, which you will learn in this course, you will relax more deeply and train yourself to master your mind and body, extending your breath hold and strengthening the effects of the practice.
This course gives you both a daily practice that feels amazing which blends yoga and meditation technique with highly motivating knowledge of scientific research.
Integrating Sports Science and Yoga
It has been known for over 50 years that athletes who train at high elevations where the oxygen levels are thin experience serious performance gains due to the changes in red blood cell levels. This principle has been exploited in doping which leads to the insane cycling performance of Lance Armstrong winning the arduous Tour de France competition 8 years in a row. Yet by learning to comfortably suspend your own breath and dropping your blood oxygen levels intentionally, you too can stimulate the production of red blood cells in your body within hours, giving you the ability to exercise longer and with more energy.
Breathe to Energize looks into the use of breath suspension since in the earliest inception of yoga over 2500 years ago. By knowing the perspective and philosophy at work of the ancient yogis, you will discover your ability to silence your thoughts and master your body and mind.
Do you practice other forms of Breathwork?
In this program you will see inspiration and knowledge that draws from conscious connected breathwork, yogic pranayama, Buteyko Method and the Wim Hof method. By joining Breathe to Energize, you will draw inspiration and take in new perspectives on breathwork while going deeper with your scientific knowledge and meditation practice.
If you are new to Breathwork
Perhaps you have heard of breathwork or have had a few experiences and are curious to know more. The stronger breathwork practices in Breathe to Energize are lightly challenging as it stimulates the sympathetic nerve system and can temporarily raise the blood pressure slightly. You are encouraged to work in partnership with your body and mind, taking this course at the rate and speed which is right for you.
Recommended tools to have for this course:
One breathwork exercise in Breathe to Energize makes use of a pulse oximeter to monitor your blood oxygen levels. To get the most out of this course, obtain or purchase an oximeter – something you should be able to find easily online between 20 and 70 USD. We recommend that you specifically seek out a device which has a quality sensor and is FDA approved. Adrian currently uses the Oxiline Pulse 9 Pro
====== WHAT TO EXPECT ======
This is the second Udemy course by BreathYoga and Adrian Cox who has spent 25 years studying, practicing and teaching thousands of people the arts and science of body and mind. "Although I have studied several breathing techniques intensively over last 25m years ,I was delighted with this course and reinspired about breathing techniques ,so much so that I immediately sent links to this course out to many of my own students and even to my family members .Masterly taught by Adrian Cox" - Paddy McGrath
"I have only reached half the course and it's rare for me to give a review at this early stage of my learning. But I thought I must go ahead and give a review for such a wonderful course even I have not completed the whole. This course is by far the best I have attended on Breathwork. It's simple, down to earth practical, easy to apply, and to the point" - Bevin Vincent
"I am gaining so much knowledge from this course. I especially love the building of breathing techniques and how much I yawned during the Salamander Technique blew my mind. I definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to go deeper into themselves and breath work"- Brandi Cortez
"Fantastic course...Simple and concise. Wonderful balance of theory and practical. I Loved that there were practices in each module. Looking forward to more of Adrian's trainings"- Emma Tranter

"I have been a student of this topic for quiet a long time, and Adrian Cox transfers his profound knowledge of Breathwork in a clear, interesting and easy-to-understand style. "A great intro to resonant breathing for someone like me, that has almost no knowledge of the subject.. I found it very informative and intriguing! The instructor helped me to understand biological functions that I was not aware of, in a pleasant and conversational manner. Great ways to hack the mind and body to unlock the hidden potential within!" - Dean Keasey
"Learning all about resonant frequency breathing with Adrian Cox over the last few days - really good stuff, whether we practice yoga or not. Breathwork is gaining a lot of popularity and attention these days, being taken out of the classical pranayama box as more is understood about its benefits. Learning new things, new tools, expanding on what I know and connecting the dots. There is so much we can incorporate into our own practices. This is definitely one of them. If you know Adrian, he is doing what he does best, teaching! This is his first online course, and I'm looking forward to more! Highly recommended!" - Tonia Cheng
"There's a really good mix of hard science (but not so hard as to go over your head) and traditional yogic teachings here. There is a lot of information, probably more than can be absorbed in one go-through, but also good concrete methods for using this information to improve health and states of mind." - Zak Braverman
