A web application is application software that runs on a web browser, unlike software programs that run locally and natively on the operating system of the device. Web applications are delivered on the World Wide Web to users with an active network connection.

Its high-level built in data structures, combined with dynamic typing and dynamic binding, make it very attractive for Rapid Application Development, as well as for use as a scripting or glue language to connect existing components together. Python's simple, easy to learn syntax emphasizes readability and therefore reduces the cost of program maintenance. Python supports modules and packages, which encourages program modularity and code reuse. The Python interpreter and the extensive standard library are available in source or binary form without charge for all major platforms, and can be freely distributed. Often, programmers fall in love with Python because of the increased productivity it provides.

Django is a high-level Python web framework that enables rapid development of secure and maintainable websites. It is free and open source, has a thriving and active community, great documentation, and many options for free and paid-for support.

SQLite is an in-process library that implements a self-contained, serverless, zero-configuration, transactional SQL database engine. Django uses SQLite as it's default database engine.
