This course is a collection of coaching activities that are tried and tested with clients. I put the course together because of the number of clients I met that undersold themselves, were not sure what jobs they should be applying for and consistently overlooked important transferable skills, putting way too much emphasis on the things that they could not do. They often talked themselves out of applying for a job because they had not done everything on the job description before. and they did not feel confident. I want you to be in a job you love, not one that makes you want to stay in bed on Monday mornings!
The course is unique because it is a series of coaching activities and the video of me talks you through those activities. That means that I am helping you to explore what you need to be successful in getting a new job and every person that completes this course will take something different from it, because it is all about you! You do need to be able to reflect and to be honest with yourself. The course also allows you to book a session with me at the end, so that we can review your progress, ask any questions and plan your next steps.
There are 4 units in the course and it will take you in the region of 10 hours to complete, depending on how thorough you are with the activities and how much research into different jobs you undertake.
Unit 1. Confidence development - investigate common reasons for not feeling confident and small things you can do to improve your confidence.
Unit 2. What is your ideal job? - developing a set of criteria for your ideal job that you can use to assess whether a job is worth applying for.
Unit 3. Where are your gaps? - carrying out a gap analysis to see what strengths you have, your transferable skills and where you need to develop.
Unit 4. Plan your own development - plan how you can fill the gaps you have and show prospective employers that you are proactive and know what you need to do to improve.
