• The course describes the cell structure and functions and explores the different tissues including the cellular basis of connective tissue which including: what is a cell, history of cell biology; prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells; cell shape and size; cell structure; the nucleus; the nucleolus; euchromatin and heterochromatin; the animal cell; the plant cell; human cells. The objectives of this part of the course are to enable you to establish links between the morphology and the main cellular functions, between the cellular ultrastructure and the cellular aspect at light microscopy. Just like cytology and anatomy, histology is a branch of morphology, and is itself divided into general and special histology.
• Generally, histology is the study of tissues, the association of cells of the same type, sometimes with extracellular components, which form the elemental organ components. Special histology, also called microscopic anatomy, is studied later. It studies the architecture of organs composed of several tissues, much more student will be in position ofEvaluating cell samples under the microscope for screening purposes Development and evaluation of new cell based diagnostic tests Consulting with patients and providers on issues related to Cytology services Train and improve awareness of modern cytotechnology techniques among other health providers Counseling patients Participate in community disease detection and prevention programs.

• Relate properties of cancerous cells to mutational changes in gene function.
