This course introduces you to fundamental multiplication techniques described in Vedic Maths, under the Nikhilam Sutra & Urdhva Tiryak Sutra. The calculation method in Nikhilam Sutra, also referred to as the Base Method, is simple and fast. This technique is best applied when the difference between the numbers to be multiplied is not too large. This technique is applicable to numbers of any number of digits.
The Urdhva Tiryak method is a general method applicable to multiplication of all numbers, ,however large or small. In the course, we also discuss the algebraic principles on which this method is based.
As you learn and apply these methods, you will realize how powerful these methods are. These methods make calculations easy and super fast.
It is unfortunate that these techniques are not being taught in schools today.
This course is very effective because it lays stress on conceptual clarity of the technique. The complete course is explained in a set of short videos covering more than 50 examples. The course gives you three practice worksheets to help you develop your skills.
The final video of this course gives you thumb rules based on which you can decide which technique to use for which kind of numbers.
Why This Course Should Be Taken
Multiplication is a fundamental mathematical concept. The "Base Method" technique and Urdhva Tiryak Sutra method is many times simpler and faster compared to conventional multiplication method taught in schools. Students find this method very easy to learn and apply in their academic pursuits.
No Memorization, cramming or stress for students. Only practice is needed.
Increased accuracy of problem solving. Since the technique is short and simple, the room for error is low as compared to conventional method. The complexity of the conventional multiplication method increases manifold as the number gets larger. Imagine multiplying 99997 x 99989 in the conventional way. Students will solve this multiplication in a single line with the techniques explained in this course.
With Increased accuracy comes increased confidence and comfort. Students tend to hate numbers and maths. This fear will go away once they understand these simple methods.
Improved mental calculations and academic performance.
