Our foundation course on hypnotherapy for birthing is a form of hypnosis which is applied throughout the pregnancy and prior to childbirth to help reduce any stress or pain that may be experienced. The aim is to ensure a sense of calmness even during labour. Pregnancy and the birth of a child should be a wonderfully positive experience and using Hypnotherapy helps the mother-to-be to reduce feelings of anxiety so that the process can be enjoyed and not feared.
Hypnosis is gentle, relaxing and natural. It calms mind and body and can help alter existing behaviours, thoughts and feelings so that life is greatly improved. It is based upon the concept of a natural birth being relatively painless and how mothers can manage any physical discomfort by working towards a positive and relaxed way of being. We know that the mind and body are connected and so, eliminating any anxiety or stressful thoughts can mitigate muscular tension. Stress and anxiety influences and increases pain. It is often a result of psychological stress. Hypnosis works in a very natural way releasing tension and fear and utilises positive imagery and cues to embed suggestions into the mind. Often, the recipient will not need any additional medication during birth and will remain in control, feeling relaxed and positive throughout.
Within this course, we detail the basics of Hypnotherapy &birthing and include breathing and visualisation techniques so that clients can visualise a positive outcome. These visualisations are incredibly powerful and beneficial.
