It could also be that you are a preacher, and you would want to improve your Bible interpretation skills. The question is, how can we read the Bible and understand it? This course will equip you with simple steps to help you interpret and apply the Bible better.

The need for a methodology for Bible interpretation cannot be overemphasised because the Bible was written several thousands of years ago. Every message is better understood within the people's socio-cultural, historical and, at times, geographical context. Therefore, interpreting some scriptures may require contextualisation of the message in the framework of the original writers and recipients of the messages. Moving closer to the writers' intended meaning and how the message was understood helps us interpret the Bible more accurately and apply it to our contemporary world.

The Fundamentals of Bible Interpretation is based on the Inductive Bible Study (IBS) method. It has three steps; the Observation stage, the interpretation stage, and the application stage. The inductive Bible study method is easy to follow and takes you from the text of the Scripture to its application. In this course, you will learn to read the Scriptures and understand what it says, rather than what we want it to say, what it means rather than advance our opinion, and apply it to our context accurately.
