I’ve always been a writer, winning awards at school and making little books and recording my first play (at the same time destroying my brother and sister’s tape recorder) before I was in high school. But then I got distracted and started writing about the things that were less important, like essays, like CVs, like memos, like corporate films, until I finally started writing about what really mattered to me.
Now I’m working on my 74th book.
I have been an Amazon Best Seller in around 40 paid categories, including Photojournalism, Meditation, Motivational Self-Help, Self-Help (Success), Mental & Spiritual Healing, Parenting Emotions and Feelings, Adventure Travel, Resorts & Spas for Travelers, African, Safari, Italian, Latin American, Asian, Bhutan, Borneo and Japan, Literary & Religious Travel Guides as well as Financial Thrillers.
I’ve been the No. 1 best selling Self-Help, Counselling and Travel author in the free charts.
I’ve been featured through writing (and fitness) in Cosmopolitan, Metro, Total Film, Huffington Post and on ITV (Lorraine), Channel Four and BBC Radio.
I have a Masters degree in Film, including Screenwriting and I’ve been shortlisted several times for two prestigious US debut screenwriting awards: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences’ Nicholl Fellowship and The Chesterfield Film Writers Project.
I have recorded four of my books as audio books.
I have written, produced and directed two full length feature films, one starring Brendan Cole from “Strictly Come Dancing”.
I have been Travel Editor, Photographer as well as Deputy and Fashion Editor for London Fashion Week 2020 for WHYTT Magazine.
Over the last couple of years, I have coached other writers to edit and self publish their work, with all being Amazon Best Sellers in categories such as Business Biographies and Memoirs, Living with Disabilities Biographies and Family Poetry.
In this course, I would like to help you to become a better writer, whether it is for novels, business books or just for social media posts or birthday cards – with a little help, everyone can write.
Remember, I'm not teaching English, I'm teaching writing, which means that I'll be adding a little humour, looking outside writing for examples of how we use our voices, reflecting on screenwriting and representation in films as well as classic English literature and, above all, trying to recapture the fun and freedom that comes when we practice and play with our writing.
