This class will be presented to show the student how to make Basic Murrini and then how to use that murrini to make a beautiful glass beads. The class is intended for the beginning student and does not require a lot of experience or expensive tools and materials. The class will start with an introduction and a presentation slide of the class Syllabus. We will then review the prerequisites including having knowledge of basic lampwork safety requirements, a well ventilated work area and a pair of didymium safety glasses. It is also recommended that the students has a kiln to properly anneal their canes and beads.

The class will start with an Introduction and Syllabus. A short presentation of the prerequisites will then occur.

The instructor will demonstrate how to make striped murrini without the use of any special tools. Bullseye murrini will also be demonstrated using 3 different opaque colors. The instructor will then demonstrate how to apply the striped murrini and bullseye murrini to a glass bead.

The third murrini demonstration will use an optic mold to layer white opaque glass with clear glass to make dandelion petal murrini. Once the murrini is made, pulled, cooled and cut, the instructor will demonstrate how to make a dandelion bead using the murrini.

The final murrini will utilize a graphite mold to make star murrini from 3 colors. Once the star murrini is made, pulled, cooled and cut, the instructor will demonstrate how to make an encased murrini bead.
