The key strategies covered in the ten lessons of this course include the following: being clear on the purpose of your writing, organizing your writing to match the purpose, structuring your paragraphs correctly, organizing your content so it flows, saying things simply, using words correctly, checking for punctuation and capitals, proofreading your work repeatedly, using spacing and headings appropriately and effectively and finishing with a strong conclusion.

Each lesson is followed by an assignment so that students have an opportunity to apply what they have learned to a writing topic and exercise. At the conclusion of the course, students are invited to submit a five hundred word document and receive free feedback on where there are opportunities for them to improve.
