Adding dried herbs to homemade soap is a simple but creative way to add fragrance and beauty to an otherwise ordinary item. Be sure to use skin-safe, edible plants only, and avoid mixing any fresh plants into your soap.

Soap requires the use of potassium hydroxide, also known as lye, which can be dangerous to work with. As long as you take your time and take care, you can safely make your own liquid soap that you can use to refill all the soap dispensers in your home. Making your own liquid soap by using up the soap leftovers is easy and a great way to avoid wasting perfectly good soap. If you want to try something fancier, however, you can make real liquid soap using lye and scraps of old soap.

In this day and age of chemical- free, all-natural living, offering the best to your baby can come with a hefty price tag. Organic foods, chemical-free cleaning products and all-natural soaps and baby items can be very expensive. You can easily make a truly natural soap for your baby for much less money than you would spend if you purchased commercial baby soap in the store.

Oatmeal soap can be pricey to buy, but it's cheap and easy to make. The quickest and easiest way to make oatmeal soap is using a melt-and-pour soap base, but you can also make your own soap from scratch.
