DescriptionIn this course you will learn about the terminology and application of all parts of the arms and hands that are used as weapons in traditional Kyokushin Karate. This is one course out of a series of many to come in which a focus is put on building a strong foundation for understanding the application of traditional Kyokushin Karate practices towards realistic self-defence. The course does not intend to only cover the sport of Karate but it looks to uncover and reteach the traditional applications of Kyokushin Karate as seen through the many unorthodox weapons of the hands that are discussed and taught in this course. Karate techniques aim to to concentrate as much bodily strength as possible at the points of contact with the opponents body. In this course you will learn how Kyokushin Karate aims to convert all parts of the arms into an efficient weapon with a powerful striking edge or point. This requires continual practice and eagerness to learn and master such techniques. Be aware that this course alone does not teach you all these skills, however, it is an important stepping stone to learn and understand parts of the body that can be used as weapons before we start covering the strikes and techniques in more details in future courses that are planned to be more advance.
