Markets are a zero sum game so at any given time period you can only be in a net loss or net profit position so past information provides minimal context for rest in orders but all aggressive orders are in the moment in response to real world events and emotions of multiple time horizons. As we cannot predict the future Market Profile builds a picture on what traders are doing now and their possible expectations.
