DescriptionIf you are unfamiliar with self-publishing, the Starter Kit will get you going in the right direction. The four lectures in the Starter Kit are:
Self-publishing Mini-course: a discussion of issues on self-publishing. Self-publishing isn’t as easy as you may be led to believe by the content on the web. This lecture discusses several issues that a new self-publishing author must face.
Converting a Manuscript to an Ebook: a manuscript must undergo significant revisions before it is ready to become an ebook. There is an international standard called the Epub3 standard and web sites such as Barnes & Noble, Apple and many others won’t handle ebooks that don’t comply with the Epub3 standard.
Strategic Marketing Plans: all book marketing starts with a strategic plan. Many first-time self-publishing authors ignore marketing until after the book is publish. This is a mistake. Book marketing should start before the book is published. This marketing plan is the best way to begin those efforts.
Scams: the internet has many scam artists searching for inexperienced authors. It isn’t hard for the scammers to identify inexperienced authors struggling to publish or market a book. Using slick websites and headlines aimed at major pain points, they offer “help,” but the help is designed mostly to empty the author’s wallet. Learn some of their tricks
These four lectures have been developed and presented over the last few years and bundled together for the first time to address issues that are important to new self-publishers.
Update:
This course has been updated to add a new topic: The Landing Page Challenge. Your book's landing page is probably the most important marketing tool an author has. This new video discusses how to create a landing page to maximize your chances of converting a visitor to a customer,
