Sikuli is a GUI automation tool. Sikuli automates anything you see on screen using the image recognition method to identify GUI elements. Sikuli script allows users to automate GUI interaction by using screenshots. It is mainly used for interacting with elements of web pages and handling windows based popups. Sikuli uses the technique of “Image Recognition” and “Control GUI” to interact with elements of web pages and windows popups. In Sikuli, all the web elements are taken as images and stored inside the project. Sikuli can be very much useful to automate flash objects (which do not have ID or name). It can be useful in the situation, where we have a stable GUI. Sikuli can be easily used together with Selenium Web Driver.

This course assumes that users have a basic understanding of java and automation testing. Beginner python skills is recommended.

Sikuli is divided in two parts

1. Sikuli Slides – Automation by PowerPoint slides

2. SikuliX – Automation by scripts

It can be run on Windows, Mac or Linux/ Unix machine as it is nothing but a java application.
