About this Course
My name is Bradley, and I've been in the professional massage game for 15 years. Through my Ebodhi project, I've taught more than a dozen styles of massage to more than 5,000 students around the world.
In this course, I teach two of my favourite treatments: Sound Therapy and Zen Shiatsu.
I stongly believe that these are two of the most useful and enjoyable therapies that you can learn.
Zen Shiatsu is Japanese form of bodywork involving very slow, leaning body-weight pressures, applied with a meditative sensitivity. It is extremely relaxing - even hypnotic. It can be performed on its own, although it combines particularly nicely with Sound Therapy, as well as Thai massage, and it is a perfect way to both begin and end any massage, helping to ease the client into and out of the experience.
Sound Therapy utilizes sound waves to penetrate and vibrate the body tissues and energy fields, while also relaxing the mind, like a mantra. The treatment taught on this course involves Tibetan singing bowls, and it is based on traditional shamanic practices in Sri Lanka. Once again, this treatment can be given as a stand-alone session, or, alternatively, you can integrate singing bowls into any massage therapies that you like to perform.
Ultimately, both of these treatments allow the client to enter into a state of trance, helping to switch off an over-active mind, while enabling the body's natural abilities to heal itself. An emotional release is often experienced.
Together, Zen Shiatsu and sound therapy are certainly two of the most interesting and powerful healing modalities that you can learn, and they really do help bring a new dimension into any treatment experience, upgrading your skill set.
