Join us as Kristen Mason, owner of Childbirth Together Education and Doula Services, teaches us the doula’s scope of practice as set by KC Women's Ministry, patient’s rights, how to teach clients to advocate for themselves, and when/how to step in when necessary. She will also be covering self-advocation and how to effectively advocate as a support person.

Kristen is "very passionate about patient’s rights and personal power. I want our clients to have their voices amplified by our doulas and by their support person, not spoken for. I also want the birth teams built by our organization to include support people AND medical personnel. Learning to work with staff instead of against them. I also hope to equip people with the know-how of what to do when direct advocation becomes necessary. "

Kristen is a wife and mother of two babies plus a happy fur baby. She is the Director of Postpartum Doula Operations and a volunteer doula with the KC Women's Ministry. She is a Certified Maternal Support Practitioner for fertility, labor and postpartum through Bebo Mia as well as a Certified Childbirth Educator through Milestones Midwifery.
