Many words are the same, on paper, in French and English. But the pronunciation is different. If you make mistakes with pronunciation, even using the correct words will make it difficult or impossible for Anglophones to understand you.

One fundamental difference between French and English is syllabic emphasis. In French you can change it - in English you can't. It's fixed.

This course will demonstrate syllabic emphasis in English, to help you learn how to improve your pronunciation. You will learn about the biggest mistakes, and how to rectify them, focusing on words with two or more syllables, and longer words with three or more syllables. Mistakes with these words can make your vocabulary impossible to understand and can sometimes change the meaning of the words completely. Tellement dangereux!

Iwill explain the rules for different types of words and give you the opportunity to practice. Listening to my perfect English pronunciation, with all the information explained in French, will help you understand the importance of syllabic emphasis.
