In this course you will turn your ideas into breathing characters who want to break free and live. A professor once said to me -that every story starts on a blank page, and the author essentially gives birth to a story. At first, the story only exists in the imagination until the author has the desire and motivation to begin, to bring their ideas to life, word by word, until that blank page is filled with characters who are set on a journey to meet lovers, make best friends, face their fears, and live like living people who want to feel less alone in this world. You want your audience to dream about the stories that you have created so they can take a break from this life to escape for a bit.

You will write about conflicted characters and vivid settings.

You will have a step by step opportunity to learn about the art of writing as you progress through the course. You will ponder ideas, brainstorm, practice, and learn about the importance of editing and revising.

At the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to write a polished short story to enter into writing contests or for publication.
