The Science of Innovation & Behavioural Strategy
In this Neurofied course, you will learn to improve the innovative capacity of your organization using scientific principles from the fields of psychology, neuroscience, and behavioural strategy. You will be able to identify the practices and processes that are preventing your company from harnessing the power of novel ideas. You will learn about specific processes implemented by successful companies to increase innovation.
Your instructors, Benjamin Davey and Philip Jordanov, are cognitive neuropsychologists who both have master-level qualifications from top universities. They have deep expertise when it comes to the science underlying innovation. Importantly, through years of training, consulting, and online course-making, they have devised strategies that allow them to directly apply these principles in an organizational context.
Course overview
This is an innovation course for the companies of the future. We start by delving into how innovative thought fundamentally differs from everyday rational thought. You will see that these thinking styles differ on a neuroscientific level. You will quickly come to realize that thinking innovatively is a choice that requires a change in mindset and processes.
Next, we look at the management level and ask ourselves how an innovative culture is fostered or destroyed through practical examples. Finally, Philip discusses the biases and blockages that stop innovation in its tracks. This segment tackles innovation at the strategic (boardroom) level.
Overall, you can expect to gain insights into innovation that are truly unique and cannot be found in textbooks. We hope you enjoy it!
