DescriptionHello Everyone,
Thank you for considering this course. I created this course for anyone who has an interest in history, or an interest in where music comes from, or even for anyone looking to get a leg up with college music history. I have always loved music and been fascinated by its origins, so making this course was a lot of fun. We will cover the time period of 0 C.E. to the end of the middle ages which is around 1450 C.E. Music changed and evolved so much over that time period, but yet still has so far to go. We will start in Ancient Greece, move to Rome, and also cover various countries and regions of Western Europe. Some of the topics we will cover are...
- Music & Philosophy
- Monophonic Music
- Religious Music
- Non-Religious Music
- Gregorian Chant
- Church Modes
- Rhythmic Modes
- Polyphonic Music
- Fixed Forms
And so much more. I hope you come along for the ride.

I was born with music inside me. Music was one of my parts. Like my ribs, my kidneys, my liver, my heart. Like my blood. It was a force already within me when I arrived on the scene. It was a necessity for me-like food or water. -Ray Charles
