DescriptionDo you or your business need an input of creativity and innovation? How about giving your staff a boost by encouraging them to share their ideas? Your best resource can be your workforce, so don't underestimate their ability to find solutions for you.
A hackathon does just that - in this course, you will learn how to create one from start to finish. The idea is to create an event that addresses an issue within your business, set a brief and ask for recruits for teams to answer that brief, using set restrictions like timings, research data available, etc. These solutions are then presented to a panel and judged at the end of the event, and a winner announced - usually the winning solution is put into practice somehow.
The soft skills learnt during these events are immeasurable - from leadership to team-working, from negotiation skills to presentation skills. The benefits to your business are tangible and worth the small cost of the event. Think of the cost if you were to organise external training to cover these topics! There is also benefit in cross-generational working, sharing knowledge and experience across the age ranges - mixing older staff with apprentices, people with years of experience with you, and new staff working together can come up with some unusual and inventive solutions.
